The talk will be given by Dr.-Ing. Hans Jakob Gätjens


Dr. Gätjens was a marine engineer for the Shipping Company Hamburg-Süd before studying mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover. He was also an associate professor at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg and obtained his doctorate following research conducted on diesel motors. After working 8 years as a Project Manager at Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG, he served on the Board of Directors of several companies within the marine industry. Since 2007, he has been Vice-President of Bureau Veritas SA, which is responsible for Central Europe, the Baltic States and Russia.
